Tension is a build-up effect plugin that combines filtering, tempo-synced echo, reverb, and saturation around one main control. Create subtle lifts or intense transitions without automating several separate effects.
Main features
- One-knob build-ups: Turn or automate Tension from 0–100% to increase the effect.
- Three intensity modes: Choose Gentle, Lift, or Impact to shape how the build develops.
- Four sound controls: Adjust Filter, Echo, Space, and Drive to customise your sound.
- Tempo-synced echo: Choose 1/16, 1/8, dotted 1/8, or 1/4-note timing.
- 10 factory presets: Start with ready-made settings ranging from gentle ambience to strong sweeps and spacious echoes.
- Save your own presets: Create, name, recall, update, and delete user presets.
- Output control: Adjust the final level from −18 to +6 dB.
- DAW automation and session recall: Automate the build-up and restore your settings when reopening a project.
- Mono and stereo support.
- Animated interface: Visual feedback responds as the intensity rises.
How to use it
- Load Tension as an audio effect on a track or group.
- Choose a preset and intensity mode.
- Raise or automate the main Tension knob before a transition.
- Return it to 0% at the drop.
Open Sound controls to fine-tune the effect. Loading a saved user preset resets Tension to 0%, ready for your next build-up.

The Mac build includes Apple Silicon and Intel architectures. Tension requires a DAW; it is not a standalone application. VST2 and AAX formats are not included.
One license for both platforms
Your activation key works with both updated Windows and Mac versions. Existing Tension keys remain valid.
- Lifetime license with offline activation.
- No account sign-in or internet connection required to activate or use the plugin.
- Paste the complete TNS1- code from your purchase page into Activate Tension.
- Activation is saved for your computer’s user account. Keep your code for reinstalling.
Installation and downloads
Your download includes the installer and installation/user guides. Close your DAW before installing, then reopen it and rescan plugins if needed.
Installation note: Windows or macOS may show a security warning during installation. Read the installation guide included in your download. Choose More info → Run anyway on Windows or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway on Mac, if available. If you still can’t install it, contact us for help.
